Mira Model School Innovation Lab


“When we allow children to experiment, take risks, and play with their own ideas, we give them permission to trust themselves. They begin to see themselves as learners who have good ideas and can transform their own ideas into reality” (Martinez & Stager, 2013, p. 36). 

MMS Innovation Lab is a workplace where students have an opportunity to learn , experiment, explore, think, imagine, question, create and innovate, especially through hands-on DIY( Do-It-Yourself) interactions.

 Innovation Lab aims to empower students, helping them to shift from being passive consumers of education to active innovators.

 MMS Innovation Lab is a mindset not a space.
The focus is on the development of a wide range of 21st-century skills of critical thinking, creative thinking, problem solving, computational thinking, designing thinking and physical computing. The tools and learning may include everything from woodworking ,to electronics, laser cutting, programming and 3D printing and may not be any tool, just a change in MINDSET.



MMS Innovation Lab - Atal Tinkering Lab


MMS Innovation Lab, presently named as Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL)  is sponsored by government of India under the scheme Atal Innovation Mission. ATL is an approach  to create an environment of scientific temperament, innovation, creativity amongst Indian Students. It is a step towards a new India.


Objectives

The objective of this scheme is to foster curiosity, creativity, and imagination in young minds and inculcate skills such as design mindset, computational thinking, adaptive learning, physical computing etc. Young children will get a chance to work with tools and equipment to understand what, how and why aspects of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) 
ATL would contain educational and learn “do it yourself” kits and equipment on – science, electronics, robotics, open source microcontroller boards, sensors and 3D printers etc.

Fourth Industrial Revolution 

The Fourth Industrial Revolution, also known as Industry 4.0, aims to combine the physical and digital world across all disciplines and industries. Emerging breakthrough technology such as Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality, Internet of Things, Robotics, etc. are the core of the fourth industrial revolution.
